Tartinery Café stands out at an instant hit when it comes to NYC cafe’s, providing a cozy, warm atmosphere, with a unique array of food and drink options that are not often seen in a restaurant style like this. Known for the visual decor and inviting ambiance, this restaurant perfectly captures the feeling you want when you enter an upscale fast-casual Café restaurant in New York City. Tartinery boasts a multitude of locations in the city, including Greenwich Village, Park Avenue, and Grand Central. In every location I have visited, I’ve found the food and service to be consistently good! Tartinery hits its intended demographic exceptionally and that is obvious with how popular each location is every day. Customers praise the fresh juices and smoothes, hearty salads and grain bowls, and pastries, if you like something sweet.
The pricing of Tartinery is very modest for NYC, with most options landing you in the $10-$20 range, but I found myself either needing to order more than one menu option, or add to what I already had, which naturally increased the total cost. One caveat to being located in New York City means that the prices will naturally be a bit higher than if it were to be in New Jersey, so there are pros and cons. The location in the warmer months provides outdoor seating, which creates a very relaxing atmosphere that adds to the overall experience. Along with very helpful and attentive staff, the overall climate of Tartinery is very satisfying.
Some of my favorite items on the menu include the Quinoa Bowl, Warm Rice Bowl, Any of the Tartines, and the Warm Apple Tart. All of these options are easy on the palate, have complementary flavor profiles, and leave you satisfied yet not overly full. In my opinion, that is the goal of a fast casual restaurant. You don’t go to a restaurant like this for a 5 star meal, you go to it for something relatively quick that is slightly above your typical fast-casual restaurant. Tartinery excels at its mission!
