Serafina Midtown Manhattan

Brussel Sprouts Salad with Salmon
There is something about Italian dining that brings a certain elegance to every meal. Whether it’s the smell of fresh dough getting prepared for pizza and pasta, the atmosphere of the restaurant, or the energy and excitement that the guests radiate as they dine. All of this was present during my visit to Serafina’s Midtown Manhattan Location. As you walk in, you are greeted by an impressive bar and wood fire-brick oven, signaling that this place is the real deal. Immediately, I was greeted by the host and seated in a very nice booth. Right off the bat, I knew that the pizzas here would be the stars of the show. As I walked past other tables, almost every one had at least one pizza present. The restaurant was busy, and servers were bouncing back and forth all in a seamless and elegant motion; everyone knew exactly how to operate.
For my appetizer, I knew exactly what I wanted from the moment I saw it: Serafina’s Caprese. One could argue that an Italian restaurant’s ability to make a good caprese says it all, and Serafina’s take on it did not disappoint. I am an avid avocado fan, so I knew that the consistency and creaminess that an avocado provides would be a perfect complement to the ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. The touch of olive oil was also a nice surprise.
My main course was a selection of things. Obviously, I had to get a pizza, so I decided on Goat Cheese Pizza, which included mozzarella, eggplant, roasted peppers, and baby arugula. I love eggplant, but I had never had it on pizza before, and I can say that it wasn’t that bad. In fact, the consistency was quite enjoyable. I also think the addition of fresh arugula and peppers added hits of flavor to an otherwise okay pizza. I think that it could have used a bit more time in the oven. I was slightly disappointed that the pizza was somewhat rushed, but overall it was solid. I also tried out the Brussels Sprout Salad, which had amazing hints of sweetness from the pear and grapefruit, which paired well with incredibly delicious Parmesan cheese and lemon-honey dressing. The addition of salmon was nice, but I would have appreciated a larger portion for the price. My favorite main dish by far was the Veal Chop. Whenever I see this on a menu, I have to give it a try because of how elegant yet unique it is. The veal was tender, perfectly cooked, and the side of potatoes absorbed the amazing butter sauce underneath it.
I thought dinner couldn’t get any better, but I was solely mistaken. Serafina’s Tiramisu is the best Tiramisu I have ever had. It was coated in marscopone, cocoa dusting, and delivered the perfect amount of sweetness. I don’t often choose Tiramisu, but I would choose this particular one every time. Make sure you save room for dessert.
Overall, Serafina in Midtown Manhattan is an incredible location for dinner. Whether it’s a random Friday night or it’s a special event, Serafina will deliver. When you find yourself in Midtown Manhattan and are craving an authentic Italian experience, give Serafina a go!
